Here's a brief list off the top of my head (metaphorically): 1. Remember DRDos? A competitor to MSDos: Microsoft didn't like this so they built a thing into Windows to stop it running under DRDos. Illegal? If not, it's scraping the borderline. 2. Windows 95. Does it run on top of DOS? YES. All W95 programs start and finish with MSDos interrupt functions, the underlying FAT is the DOS FAT, long filenames don't really exist... Ergo, Microsoft have publically lied about Windows 95, and this is probably slightly illegal. 3. Windows NT 4.00. Workstation and Server editions are actually the same product, with the Workstation edition having limited access to some features, and the Server having some extra utilities. One can be converted into the other (albeit illegally) by making a two byte change in the Registry. BUT Microsoft sells these products at a price difference of hundreds of pounds. The US Department of Justice is more than a little annoyed... 4. MS Internet Explorer. You mention this on your site, so I won't go into too much detail. Oh yes, and the ActiveX stuff (platform dependent rubbish) is NOT GOOD ENOUGH. So, what do we see? Microsoft has flagrantly violated trading standards, within the US and globally. To me, this represents a clear choice about which software to use.
